Picocells will primarily be used for streetlight replacements with direct burial or anchor-based assembly installations that require concealing radios that have integrated antennas.
The Picocell has similar design, safety and structural aspects as the Microcell, but conceals the radios inside a composite dome mounted on top of the LED luminary to maximize radio coverage and reduce the number of small cells necessary to achieve the mobile network operators coverage requirement. The Picocell is a much safer and aesthetically pleasing alternative to banding multiple radios, antennas and cabinets on pre-exiting streetlights and utility poles.
