Energy Management
Utility and Customer Working Together
One of the most important and cost-effective ways to reduce our dependency on foreign oil is to encourage energy efficiency in homes and businesses. To do so, end-users need relevant information on a timely basis, plus the ability to take immediate action. We collaborate with leading technology and service partners to develop and deploy demand response (DR) and demand side management (DSM) solutions to deliver proven performance, measureable and verifiable results.

Our energy management solution includes a cloud-based technology platform and web-based portals (the platform), in-premise intelligent devices, installation, support and training.
Customers must have a broadband connection (DSL, cable, fiber or wireless) to the Internet for communications with the platform. From secure web portals, customers can remotely monitor energy consumption and billing on a real-time basis, plus control or automatically schedule thermostats, hot water heaters, lights and other appliances from their laptop, smartphone or tablet. With the customer’s cooperation, the utility can also monitor and temporarily adjust certain devices to shift and reduce peak demand requirements.
The ability to simult
aneously monitor and control thousands of these devices during peak demand events can save the utility millions of dollars annually. Engaging and empowering customers to conserve energy will reduce America’s need for additional generating facilities saving billions of dollars and help improve our environment.
